German beerfestival part 1

I dont drink beer, I dont like this typical german beerfestival musik and the games.
But all this in Hong Kong with the skyline in the back, big ships around and 30 degrees in november, chinese people in dirndl and bavarien costume is bizarr and fun.
And what I really like and meanwile miss is the german food (no.. I dont cook at home)

Prost... later I changed to red wine

The rest of a german dish; not sure anymore what it was.
And: Uli in action

Part 2 is comming soon because we plan to go there again this week...

Halloween in Lang Kwai Fong

Halloween in Hong Kong is more like Carneval.
It was fun, but too many people and there was no chance to go even close to the pub street Lang Kwai Fong.

We just walked around, got drinks from the supermarket and wached other people

Frau Antje aus Shanghai

Antje came from Shanghai to visit HK and me.
We went to the most famous tourist attraction in HK: the big Buddha.

Actually it looks nicer from the distance.
But there is a cablecar from the Buddha to the next train station; crossing one mountain and for me thats the best when visiting the Buddha.

Chinese National Day - 1. October

Yesterday was the Chinese National Day with a fantastic fireworks in the evening.
Jo and Walter brought me to a chinese restaurant to eat snake soup.
The tast was very good; the optic was not that sensational like I expected: there was no snake head swimming in the soup ;)

Wile waiting with the crowd, we played the game "pile the chairs" (this is my very free translation)
And here is a video of the fireworks:

My appartment

After 5 months in my appartment I finally almost finished the decoration and have everything I need.
So its time to show you some fotos:

Here's the entrance.

Its really long and I cant do anything with this space than store my shoes and bags.

The living room is small but as I mentioned before; I love the view.
And I dont need more space in HK.
There is even space for one or two guests, the sofas I can change into sleeping places.

Left: my working place.
Finally I got a notebook,
until now I use it mostly to play solitair :)
Right: my small kitchen;
big enough for me as I prefere to eat outside.

And here's the bedroom. Too small to get it completly on one foto.

Hagupit

Who names the typhoons?
However... a typhoon named HAGUPIT with a very bad timing came yesterday evening close to HK.
The signal 8 was hosted at 6 pm.

Somehow I liked the idea to sit in a restaurant in the 62. floor at the window wile outside is typhoon 8.... but I was the only one who liked it.

So we decided to have dinner in the Australien "Kangoroo Pub"; based in a cellar.

Later I wanted to walk home, but as an lonely umbrella passed by - at eye level -; I decided to take a taxi which cost me 4 time more than on normal days.

Unfortunatly the signal changed at 7 am. to number 3; that means everybody had to go to work.

Like I said: BAD TIMING

R66 in Wan Chai

Sunday/ yesterday I wanted to go to an exhibition in Wan Chai. Accidentally I found this restaurant in Wan Chai.
The name is R66 and its located in the 62. floor of Hopewell Center in Wan Chai and its the only revolving restaurant in HK.
One turn takes 66 minutes.
Yesterday I only had a coffee there but tomorrow evening I will have dinner there with some Ex colleagues from Stoll... so just wait for the night pics :)

Btw.: the exhibition was already closed when I finally arrived

At the beach in Shek O

As I heart the summer in germany is already over; I want to make you somewhat jealous. We have still around 35 degrees outside and 26 degrees water temperature.
So... whats better than go to the beach on sunday?

There many beaches in HK; in Shek O one can rent sunshades and the water is not so dirthy like in other places.

In the evening the peolple make BBQ; the things they need they can by at the nearby supermarket :)

Its also a nice place for hiking
And here is a air foto from Shek O (thanks to google maps)
