Tokyo - street scenes

I was one week in Tokyo, my last holiday for this year. Its so good to see the town again after 10 years when I was there last time. It didnt change so much although I couldn't find much of the old places I used to know. Yesterday I uploaded already many pictures (had to select from 800) and there still missing my favorite street scenes. Will do this as soon as I have time (probably in 5 weeks as many friends coming to HK in the next time :). Anyway, Tokyo is great and now I know again why I liked to live there. Saturday I was out to check some Salsa bars in Roppongi. I ended up in SALSA SUDADA and was dancing until 4 in the morning. Amazing: all the cubans looked like Lenny Kravitz!!! Ok... street pics coming soon...

And here they are! Just came home and will go to meet friends in one hour, but here for you: Tokyo street scenes:

Fishmarket

The Tokyo fishmarket starts early in the night but recently its open for tourists only from 7 am because the photoshooting was disturbing the work.

Anyway; also from 7 is much to see. Its a huge place and you can see how they cut the big tuna.

Later you can have very fresh sushi for breakfast.. yummie!!

Parks and Tempel

There so many parks and tempel and I only saw the most famouse ones like the Meiji Shrine and the Temple in Asakusa.

Buildings

The different and crazy architecture is amazing! Seems like there no rules for the architects and you find very futuristic buildings next to traditionel houses and even copies of famous buildings like the Eiffel tower.

The governmenthouse in Shinjuku

The Rainbow bridge at Odaiba

The Asahi Beer center designed by Philippe Starck in Asakusa

Shinjuku

The Tokyo Tower already with X-mas decoration in front

Hakone

I spent one night outside of Tokyo in Hakone, a beautiful area with view to the Fuji (if your more lucky with the weather than me).
I stayed in an 300 year old traditional Ryokan

My view from the room

.. and I even had a private hot bath!!

Breakfast (really, its no dinner!!)

... the Ryokan inside
... and outside

The weather was not good, very foggy and cold but you could actually see its autumn! I miss the different seasons in HK.

Halloween 2009

Again Halloween...
its so much fun go go out in HK in a costume and with a wig.

Uli was the star as fireman and we had to stop every 5 meters because people want to take his picture; prefered together with their children.

Later we went to Makumba for dancing. Btw... I was a new version of spiderwoman ;)

some people where really creative with their costumes..
